IRISH BEACH, CALIF. — Have you ever made a shamrock out of a rock? Somebody made this one in the sand to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day . The shamrock is known as the symbol of Ireland and affiliated with St. Patrick’s Day. However, California has Irish connections that many don’t know about. From Irish Beach on Mendocino Coast to the city of Dublin in San Francisco’s East Bay, to former Shamrocks (Shamrock was a settlement in Imperial County 4 miles west of Calipatria, and also in Kern County 12 miles south of Delano,) California’s Irish heritage is strong, proud and as beautiful as Irish Beach!
