Signs of Autumn at California Beaches

Published on: October 20, 2012

It’s hard to get sympathy from the rest of the world when you live at or near a California beach, but take a look at the photos and let’s be honest. It’s pretty sad that your concept of Autumn Leaves comes from a sidewalk where you are lucky to see a single red leaf. When you notice a leaf  has fallen to the ground (from the only non-palm tree around) in colors such as red, yellow or gold, it’s the beach dwellers cue that winter is on its way. That means it is time to get out the Pumpkin or Santa hat and put it on the plaster pelican that sits on your patio deck next to the lawn chair.  If you want to see California beaches there are about 1,000 miles of them, and they nearly always look the same. But right now is the primo time to visit the Sierra mountains and see the fall foliage. Get going fast before the snow arrives.
