Kind of like a slice of island paradise, Silver Strand State Beach on Coronado Island features the warmest weather and bluest skies this side of the Hawaiian Islands. Our favorite and only way we’ve ever spent time at Silver Strand is by staying across the road at Loews Coronado Bay Resort. After 911, many with jobs in tourism actually came to Coronado from Hawaii, looking for employment. Coronado, known for Hotel del Coronado, smooth sand beaches and great vacations, includes amenities that tourists want such as fire rings, ramadas, tables and barbecue pits at Silver Strand. Three pedestrian tunnels connect Loews hotel and the bay side of Silver Strand SB to the Pacific oceanfront beaches. Open paddle and standup paddle rentals are available at Crown Cove Aquatic Center on site.
