Beaches, Bikinis, Bands — that’s part of Spring Break 2012 at Santa Cruz Boardwalk today and tomorrow, April 5-6, 2012. There’s also Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Square Pants, a Surfing Magician, Spike TV IMPACT Wrestler Jeff Hardy, the 100-year old carousel, outdoor roller coaster overlooking the Sant Cruz Wharf, and the beloved Beach Train that travels from the mountains to the sea.
Spring Break Battle of the Bands offers non-stop music with DETOUR from Sebastopol, THE TRIMS from San Jose, SLAVES OF MANHATTAN from Carmichael, WAKING WANDER from San Leandro, and GLASS BATTLES from Los Angeles. Santa Cruz is a college town (home to University of California, Santa Cruz) and as such, epitomizes the Spring Break experience. The events are free–rides charge a fee (beachboardwalk.com).
