Taking it to the Streets at Encinitas Annual Street Fair

Normally you just wave to your friends zipping by in cars or on bikes as you cross under the big sign that hovers over the coastal highway in Encinitas, Calif. But during one weekend, everybody takes it to the streets, celebrating life at the beach in this North San Diego beach town known for its great surfing, La Paloma Theatre, funky shopping and love of life. The 29th annual Encinitas Street Fair (encinitas101.com) is being held April 28-29, 2012, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, Saturday & Sunday. If you can make it, go see it! Location: South Coast Highway 101 between D & J Streets.
