Tarantulas, Testicles – California Festivals

Published on: October 17, 2012

You say “tarantula”. I say “testicle”. Tarantulas, testicles, tomatoes, potatoes–they’re all California festivals!

If you think you’ve seen everything, you ain’t seen it all! California’s festival circuit this fall includes the incredible Poison Oak Festival, Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade, Horror Film Fests, and the creepiest of all — Tarantula Festival in the Village of Coarsegold. Tons of tarantula themed things (including the star of the show,) grace this event where you can touch the hairy spiders, buy souvenir tarantula objects, and enter your pumpkin dessert in a contest with prizes for best taste and tarantula themed design. Tarantula races, arachnid displays, costume contest for the kids, and food vendors make this a day to remember that’s really not so scary, after all. Tarantula Awareness Festival is held on October 26, 2013. Call: (559) 683-3900,  coarsegoldhistoricvillage.com

In the spring get ready to test your testicle skills and knowledge at the 33rd Annual Oakdale Testicle Festival (oakdaletesticlefestival.com) on March 31, 2014. Advertised as ’33 Years and Still Hangin’,  you are advised to forget baked beans–bull testicles cooked in coals are the ultimate cowboy treat.   Perhaps you’d rather stick to the Perris Potato or a California tomato festival!
