The Queen of California Missions with iconic dual bell towers, greets tourists all year round with welcoming Spanish charm. You can even rent facilities with overnight accommodations! The mission sits on a hill visible from most vantage points in Santa Barbara–it’s truly a special place.

One very special day (August 1, 2013)  called La Fiesta Pequena officially opens Old Spanish Days, an annual event in Santa Barbara that begins on the steps of the church at Old Mission Santa Barbara. Fiesta’s traditional songs and dances: tunes of the Californios, Flamenco, Spanish classical, and Mexican folklorico dances take guests back to another time when. Surprisingly, the mission is still a time capsule and  gathering spot for families, friends and community members attracted to its ambiance, beauty and history. If you go to La Fiesta, food is available for purchase from local vendors. Location: Old Mission Santa Barbara located at 2201 Laguna Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. This event is free. See santabarbaramission.org

La Misa del Presidente (August 2, 2013) is El Presidente’s Mass followed by a Garden Reception. Fiesta attire is encouraged. This event is free also and is open to the public. Call: (805) 682-4713.
