Get free tickets to Smithsonian Free Museum Day by selecting a participating museum and downloading your admission now. The program is so popular that admission capacity tends to peak out on many museums before the event happens on Saturday, September 29, 2012. In California there are around 50 participating museums offering a variety of interests. We scanned through them and found places we never knew existed.
Some of the unique museums in California featured on Free Admission day include subjects varied such as art, Latin American art, music, lace, textiles, tools, ceramics; cultures showcased include Japanese, Chinese, Danish, Maidu, Jewish and Spanish; and popular sports such as flight, maritime and surfing.
