Joey Chestnut, World Record Holder for number of hot dogs consumed in 10 minutes (74 on July 4, 2018 at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, NY,) has won the contest 11 years! The wiener winner trains for his events by stretching his stomach with milk, water and protein supplements. To see this year’s event, visit nathansfamous.com/hot-dog-eating-contest/

The Bay Area resident holds over 40 eating records —  including eggs, chicken wings, asparagus, burgers, steak, matzoh balls, bratwurst and wontons — but most know him for his hot dog fame. And why shouldn’t they? July is National Hot Dog Month and more hot dogs are consumed on 4th of July than any other day of the year. 160 million hot dogs are eaten in the U.S. on Independence Day.
