Pictured are scenes from the California coast
California’s got beach–1,000 miles of it. But there’s another playground just beyond the sand, and it happens to be home to more creatures than we humans can fathom. Underwater Parks Day on Saturday, January 18, 2014, celebrates the 1,000 miles of water teaming with life. Aquariums and science centers pay homage with special programs ranging from a divers’ exhibit for visitors to touch and feel at Whalers Cove in Point Lobos, to free admission for age 12 and under (with paid adult admission) at Ty Warner Sea Center on the Santa Barbara Wharf. Here are a few special Underwater Parks Day events we’ve uncovered in our quest for great adventures!
