The roses are in bloom in Wasco, Calif. where you can drive by and see the rose fields, or stop to celebrate at the annual Wasco Festival of Roses (ci.wasco.ca.us) Sept. 6-9, 2012. The theme this year is Razzle Dazzle Roses. Throughout time there’s no other flower more popular in arts, culture, and even romance than the rose. Its fragrant scent drives people wild, and the colorful blossoms of a single rose are a world of perfection–nature at its finest. There are many places to see roses in California, including public and private gardens open to the public, and at least three rose parades and festivals– Tournament of Roses – Rose Parade usually on January 1) Luther Burbank Rose Parade in Santa Rosa held in May, and Wasco’s Rose Parade and Festival in September.
