Pictured is Dana Point’s IlluminOcean with 23 miles of glowing LED light strands shaped in Lightwave tunnels that stretch longer than a football field. A towering 50-foot GlowMotion tree and many decorations made of light make this free event a must-see.

It looks like the rain is moving out of most of the state for the weekend of holiday lights celebrations in California. From the fun Electrical Farm Equipment Parade in Reedley, to the awesome Calistoga Tractor Parade with an Open House decorating party beforehand at Cairdean Estate in St. Helena, the lights shine brighter on cool December nights. Among the great attractions to see are lighted zoo displays (L.A., Folsom, San Diego, Palm Desert, and Oakland) IlluminiOcean in Dana Point as well as that city’s annual Boat Parade, one of many throughout California.

Community parades, tree lighting ceremonies and the special Christmas at the Adobes in Monterey  light the way to a bright and cheery weekend.
