Those who live near a California beach tend to be a little spoiled weatherwise. Today we thought it was muggy at Orange County beaches…the temperature was 74 degrees but the humidity was around 70%. While we beach-dwellers don’t count on getting any sympathy from the residents of Sacramento, Chico or Woodbridge, we do count on them visiting! If three people are an indicator of the travel barometer, the beach is the place to be when things get too hot to handle in the Central Valley and Northern California. Take Redding, for instance–the daytime high temp set records in Redding when it peaked at 117 degrees several weeks ago. As a result of that heat spell, California’s beaches saw and felt increases in visitors–no surprise.
