Californians love their “woods”. They love them when they come on the end of metal sticks for playing golf, they love them in the spectacular forests where the giant trees grow, and they love them when they’re cars called woodies, also known as woods.
For those who can’t get enough wood, be sure to head for Santa Cruz on June 22, 2013 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) to see Woodies on the Wharf car show. If you miss that exciting and colorful event, Santa Barbara offers your next best chance to get your wood fix. Woodies at the Beach is held August 17 on the Central Coast in one of California’s favorite destinations. There are a few more woodie events after Santa Barbara, as well. If the Woodie isn’t the official car of California, it should be. Why? It represents all the things that California stands for…recreation, preservation, driving, and classic experiences set to the backdrop of one-of-a-kind locations.
