Fireworks at America's Theme Parks!

A favorite place to spend 4th of July in the USA is a theme park attraction. In addition to the regular activities and excitement, there's usually a fireworks spectacular after dark around 9 p.m. From California on the West Coast to North & South Carolina on the East Coast, Cedar Fair theme parks Knott's Berry Farm and Carowinds have the coasts covered with their great fireworks extravaganzas. 

Cedar Fair Theme Parks 4th of July 

California's Great America Santa Clara, CA July 4, 2022, 9:45 p.m. Fourth of July Celebration Monday, July 4, 2022 features a dazzling 4th of July fireworks show. Set to a patriotic soundtrack in the skies above the Flight Deck rollercoaster, the best spots to see the action are on the midway plaza in front of Flight Deck or in the Redwood Amphitheater. Spend the day lazing in the water at South Bay Shores or experiencing extreme thrills on Delirium, Demon, Flight Deck, Patriot roller coaster, RailBlazer and Xtreme Skyflyer. This is the San Francisco/Silicon Valley's only theme park that includes a water park.

Carowinds, Charlotte, NC July 2-4, 2022, 9:30 p.m. The firework show takes place on Saturday, July 2, Sunday, July 3, and Monday, July 4, 2022. The patriotic celebration, accompanied by an all-American soundtrack, is visible throughout the park, but the best viewing is Carolina Boardwalk, County Fair, and Celebration Plaza.  

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, PA July 4th Celebration July 4, 2022, 9:30 p.m. When night falls, get ready to knock your sparklers off with fireworks in radiant bursts and brilliant shimmers complemented by a patriotic soundtrack. America's founding fathers couldn't pick a better spot to celebrate the signing the Declaration of Independence than Dorney Park, approx. one hour distance from Philadelphia where the famed event took place at Independence Hall.

Kings Island in Mason, OH Independence Day Fireworks & Extended Hours Sunday, July 3, 2022, open until Midnight. It's a Golden Celebration of the theme park's 50 years, as well the 4th of July Extravaganza. The show is 14 minutes in length and features fireworks, 200 synchronized drones, fire bursts, laser projections and original music score while taking guests on a nostalgic journey through Kings Island’s first 50 years. Barry Williams, best known for his role as Greg Brady in the The Brady Bunch, narrates the show, which starts at 10 p.m.

Kings Dominion in Doswell, VA 4th of July Fireworks July 4, 2022 at 9 p.m. Independence Day at Kings Dominion finishes with a bang as the sky is filled with an amazing fireworks display!  The fireworks can be seen in International Street by the Eiffel Tower,  Candy Apple Grove by the Drop Tower,  or in Jungle X-Pedition by the Backlot Stunt Coaster.

Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA 4th Fireworks July 2-4, 2022, 9:30 p.m., After experiencing the return of Ghost Town Alive and nighttime Knott's Summer Nights party, don't miss the fanfare of dazzling Independence Day fireworks in the Orange County skies above the theme park which has its own replica Independence Hall. Three days of fantastic celebrations on Saturday, Sunday and Monday are an added bonus.

World of Fun, Oceans of Fun in Kansas City, MO 4th of July Celebration July 4, 2022. Rides close at 9 p.m. and the fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Tampa Bay, FL Summer Celebration Firework Spectacular July 1-4, 2022, 9:15 p.m.
Four-Day Celebration Friday, July 1 - Monday, July 4, 2022, includes some of the best fireworks in Tampa for Independence Day Weekend! After the dazzling fireworks entertainment there's  an extended patriotic encore each night. Before the red, white and BOOM of the fireworks on the Festival Field grab a frozen cocktail and dance to the beat in the DJ party zones. All guests over the age of 21 can celebrate the summer season with two complimentary 7 oz. beer samples per day at Pantopia Drinks & Snacks. (subject to change)

SeaWorld Fireworks & Electric Ocean

SeaWorld theme parks have a new Electric Ocean featuring fireworks throughout the summer. Immerse yourself in light, music, and your favorite SeaWorld attractions. When the sun goes down, the night comes to life with electrifying dance music, colorful lights, and a fireworks spectacular! Universal Studios

Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, FL  4th of July Celebration July 4, 2022, 9 p.m. Live music, character meet-and-greets, and fireworks  take place at Music Plaza from 5 p.m. to park close. Music Plaza decked out with red, white and blue features a band, DJ, stilt walkers and fireworks display at 9 p.m. There's also the ongoing event, Cinematic Celebration, a nighttime spectacular that pays tribute to Universal films and attractions.

Legoland Red White and Boom is back in California, New York and Florida, which means a kid-friendly fireworks show set to the backdrop of Legoland BRICK displays.

Disney Resorts

If you can get tickets to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA  or Disney World in Orlando, FL for the 4th of July, you'll see an awesome show, but the good news is that these theme parks do fireworks all summer long.

If you can't get tickets to a theme park of choice due to demand, you always have the municipal displays to fall back on. They're usually cheap or free. Let's celebrate our freedom!
