ALASAKA
Alaska Vacation – Visit the most untamed and beautiful state in the nation.
Alaska is wild.
ALASKA
You can definitively say that there's no place like Alaska in the USA! It's
the only state to border Canada to the south, not being part of the
contiguous U.S. Approx. 65% of Alaska is owned and managed by the
federal government as public lands comprised of national forests, national
parks, and national wildlife refuges. Californians aren't known to
tolerate cold weather (unless you live in the Sierra Nevada mountains, San
Jacinto, or San Bernardino, for instance.) You may want to look for the
warmest climate Alaska offers when visiting. As the only region in
Alaska in which the average daytime high temperature is above freezing
during the winter months, the Southeast is the wettest and warmest part of Alaska. Juneau averages over 50 in of precipitation
annually, and Ketchikan averages over 150 inches. That's a lot of rain for
Californians residing in desert climate. On the north Redwood Coast of
Calif. you'll see 50 inches in an average year, however.
Welcome to Alaska and its wonderful hotels! Alaska hardly seems like it is
part of the United States, but it is. Located above Canada, Alaska is the
largest state in the US, is not bordered by any other US state, has more
coastline than any other state, and is one of the wealthiest, most diverse
states for population. Vacations to Alaska often happen by cruise ship or
you can fly into its most popular, largest cities such as Juneau or
Fairbanks where lovely hotels such as Millennium Alaska Hotel sits on the
bay.
Winter events you might sink your icicle into include dog sled races, beaver
round-ups and world ice art championships. Are you getting any idea that
Alaska has ice and snow? Well there is a summer season to enjoy its warmer
weather sports and fun and if you visit during the summer months (May –
September) you might enjoy the Bald Eagle Music Festival, Sandhill Crane
Festival, rodeos and fairs.
One of the finest trips for photo safaris, the animal opportunities include
photographing bears, caribou, birds and landscapes that are dramatic and
inspiring.
