Cain's Crossing Renaissance Faire in Auburn, Calif. May 7-8, 2011

If you are looking for one of the most authentic settings to participate in a Renaissance Faire, you'll find it in Auburn, California. Cain's Crossing makes use of its historic Gold Rush setting in the Sierra Nevada foothills to provide one of the best such events in California. Held annually as a fundraiser for local schools, the setting is lush and green in the spring, and the costumes are quite lavish and well worth a visit to see. You can dress up in 16th century period costumes if you like, or just wear your normal clothes and enjoy the actors and events that bring an English village to life.

Located approx. 40 minutes northeast of Sacramento, Auburn is nestled in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains at around 1,200 elevation. I-80 and historic Highway 49 intersect at Auburn which is next to the beautiful American River Canyon. It's a must-see experience you won't want to miss! - cainscrossing.org
