If you’re looking to do something totally different during a road trip, SCE AG Tac in Tulare is a Learning Center (shown in photo) which is open to the public. Solar panels strategically stationed next to the farm demonstration area show one way to save energy and money.
There are actually two Energy Education Centers– in Tulare and Irwindale–and both provide energy efficiency information for any one wanting to learn about the latest in state-of-the-art technology, business owners and operators, architects and designers, operations and facility managers, contractors and engineers.
Courses you can sign up for in advance may be industry specific such as class about air conditioning and heating, or offer general appeal to those seeking to learn about a variety of lighting options for the home or other places. The focus of the classes is on saving energy, money, and the environment. Energy Education Center seminars and workshops provide an adult-learning setting, demonstrations using displays and exhibits, technical consultations, and program and rebate information. The majority of the seminars and workshops at the Energy Education Centers are offered free.
One of the special programs you can utilize without even leaving your home or office is a free service, the lending tools program. Southern California Edison has tools & meters for a variety of projects: digital meters, data loggers, temperature sensors and other such devices.
