WOODLAND, CALIF. — Maybe you know the nuances of a string bikini versus a thong or a bandeau, but there's another part of California life apart from California's beaches that has its own lingo, manufacturers, and an amazing history responsible for putting food on your plate and helping you fill that bikini shape.
Farming equipment and tractors are big business, and in California where farm machinery really came into its own in the early 20th century (helping make California the top producer of many crops,) a huge facility pays homage with one of the finest collections of antique farm equipment in the U.S.
Heidrick Ag Center in Woodland, the county seat of Yolo County, is home to over 100 fabulous farm machines ranging from over a dozen antique Caterpillar tractors, to Allis Chalmers, Case, Deering, John Deere, Rumley, and a favorite- the Waterloo Boy.
