Only in Petaluma will you find the Butter & Eggs Day Festival and Parade. The unique and quirky celebration reflects the city's roots during an era in which it served as the Egg Capital of the U.S. The industry was so huge and fanfare so amazing, when you entered the city you could smell the industry all around you and when people mentioned "Petaluma" it usually was because of eggs.
Today the city's history continues to be celebreated each year with the Petaluma Butter & Eggs Days Parade Celebration and Antique Faire.
Most activities are free during a two day celebration held on the downtown streets of Petaluma, where you will find much history in artfully restored buildings, and small-town friendly vibes that make tourists feel welcomed.
The Butter & Eggs Day Festival is held Saturday, April 16, 2011, and is followed by the Antique Faire that fills the streets of downtown Petaluma on Sunday, April 17, 2011. The Antique Faire attracts collectors from all over the Bay Area and California so expect crowds, and get info before you go on petalumadowntown.com
