Seal Beach Pier Classic Ocean Living!

Seal Beach Pier is one of around 100 public California piers along the California coast. One of the state's unique coastal destinations, Seal Beach in Orange County is located in Southern California region of the state. You can't help but fall in love with the city of around 30,000 residents. The tree-lined Main Street is filled with quirky shops, restaurants and this spectacular pier, a wooden planked structure where people stroll, fish for local sea catch (perch, corbina, etc.) and dine at Ruby's Cafe.

Seal Beach Pier is one of many renditions of a pier in this location. Others have been knocked down by Pacific storms bringing huge waves to the California coast. Even today, two jetties to the north and south of the pier provide slight protection, but when large waves roll in, the water nearly splashes onto the pier where people watch the beach below, often filled with sunbathers, swimmers, bodyboarders, and surfers.

Getting to Seal Beach: Seal Beach Pier is located at Main Street and Ocean Ave. Exit San Diego Freeway (405) at Seal Beach Blvd. and head west. Keep driving till the street becomes Ocean. Drive about six blocks till you see the pier on the right. Cost: Limited street parking is available for free for one or two hours, and pier parking lots have machines where you can purchase parking for longer times.
