Walkers Cafe in San Pedro is named after hard-working, sweet little Bessie Walker and her hubby who owned the diner near Point Fermin Park. Though the Walkers have passed away, this popular pit stop for the motorcycle crowd serves Bessie Burgers in memory of the founder. And for those who venture into the modest cafe, there's a cold brew waiting, some heart-warming soups, breakfast & burgers, and the best views of Catalina in town!
While most visitors love the diner's simplicity and modest prices, weekends can be a bit intimidating for those who often discover a parking lot filled with the most expensive bikes in the world.
Walkers Cafe is known for its scenic location, comfort foods, good prices, and history. Walkers isn't known for serving gourmet meals and exorbitant prices. The french fries are better than In N Out Burger, and the Bessie Burger is a real deal sold under $5. Everything is cooked after you order it (except the home-made soups) so it's a little old-fashioned, carrying the Walker traditions.
The cafe is located near Point Fermin Park & Lighthouse that you can tour. An old-fashioned bandshell in the park comes to life with free summer concerts on weekends in July. Location: 700 W Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro, CA 90731 (310) 833-3623, walkerscafe.com
