Never mind that many of the shoppers in West Hollywood (and Beverly Hills) are gawkers. It doesn't cost a penny to window shop, and actually you may find some semi-affordable trinket, or something useful during the special shopping day today, in West Hollywood.

Fashion's Night Out (FNO), the global initiative created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry's economy, and put the fun back in shopping, returns to West Hollywood on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and retailers around the city are extending their hours into the night with parties, special guests, trunk shows and entertainment.

Over 50 fashion retailers are "rolling out the red carpet" to participate throughout West Hollywood this year. In-store festivities and an official West Hollywood afterparty at Skybar at the Mondrian hotel at 10 p.m. offer photo opportunities, champagne, desserts and music.

Free shuttles will transfer shoppers around the city from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. Parking is available in the San Vicente Municipal Parking Garage at the corner of San Vicente and Melrose Avenue for $8 for the evening.
