The Junior Museum & Zoo is home to more than 50 species of animals that includes approx. 200 specimens, many taken to classrooms and used in the science outreach program. Some of the animals include bobcats, raccoons, jungle bats, hedgehogs, ferrets, snakes, fresh water fish and invertebrates, birds, turtles and a giant tortoise.
The Zoo In 1969, the Museum added a zoo that features more than 50 animals, including bobcats, bats, snakes, hedgehogs, ducks, ferrets, and raccoons. The Zoo's small but diverse collection of wildlife helps children develop a deeper understanding of the natural world and the relationships between people and animals. Children love the Rainbow Bridge which crosses the duck pond.
